David W. Malka, M.D. is the founder of The MIND now established for more than two decades. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been appointed clinical assistant professor by the vice chancellor of International University and attending neurologist and clinical instructor by the University of South Florida. Dr. Malka received the Outstanding Clinical Attending award from USF in 2002. He is a member of Who's Who and a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Besides two books in progress, he has been involved in a variety of research in biochemistry and the neurosciences, presentations, and pharmaceutical consulting, and has served on several administrative committees in several hospitals, and as an expert witness in many cases. Dr. Malka has been named the number one prescriber of stroke therapy by a major pharmaceutical company and has been featured on the Bill Newell Show and several times in the Hemando Today. His subspecialty interests include sleep and cognitive studies, iq testing, epidural and other blocks, Botox and other chemodenervation techniques, nerve conduction studies, electromyography, deep brain and vagal nerve stimulator and shunt programming, diagnostic and therapeutic Ommaya, and lumbar puncture, and neurosurgical assessments and second opinions regarding cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve surgery, and intra-arterial therapy of aneurysms, vascular malformations, tumors, and stroke.

 

T. A. Subramanian, M.D. is likewise certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the U.S. as well as in India and has two decades of neurology experience in three continents. He has been involved in research and has made several presentations and reviews in various countries around the world from which he is also the recipient of various scholarships and honors. He is proficient in multiple languages including English, Arabic, and multiple Indian dialects. His outstanding academic achievements in the United States include a record three year in a row 100th percentile scoring in nationally administered neurology examinations. He authored a doctoral dissertation on brain asymmetry and a book chapter on neurological complications of HIV. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and a recipient of the American Academy of Neurology Scholarship Award for Academy Proceedings.

 

Qin Gu, M.D. is also a U.S. board certified neurologist trained in New York, after graduating from the Second Military Medical University in Shanghai, China, where he also received a Ph.D. in neurophysiology. He has extensive research experience in neurology and neurophysiology and has been honored by several invitations to international academic conferences. He was also a scholar and faculty member at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas Texas. His research has been funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the Office of Research on Women's Health. His work has helped to understand the underlying mechanisms of memory, stroke, and epilepsy and is published in several scientific journals and book chapters.

 

Indira Umamaheswaran, M.D. is also a U.S. board certified neurologist with additional training in pain management and experience in neuro-rehabilitation. Her training began in Kerala, India and was completed in Tampa, Florida. She has extensive research experience in various locations around the world including The United States, Kuwait, and India. She has published articles in The Kuwait Medical Journal, The British Journal of Rheumatology, Archives of Internal Medicine, and Lupus. She speaks several languages including various Indian dialects, Arabic, and English.


Linda Bark, ARNP has over thirty years of medical experience including both in neurology and neurosurgery. She has been involved in countless craniotomies and spinal interventions and is proficient in nerve conduction studies, epidurals, carpal tunnel blocks, trigger point injections, and cognitive testing. She is a member of an international multiple sclerosis organization and trains patients in the self injection of various neuromodulators. She has presented at multiple community health fairs and given a variety of lectures on stroke, peripheral vascular disease, carotid stenosis, and subclavian steal syndrome to name a few. She has served in various lead administrative capacities for several hospitals developing various protocols, policies, and procedures and has been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
